Baguio Chronicle, finalist anew for PPI Awards

BAGUIO Chronicle is again a finalist in the Philippine Press Institute’s Community Press Awards which will be held face-to-face at Century Park Hotel on October 24.

       Baguio Chronicle will be vying with eight other daily and weekly local  newspapers for the various categories in the most prestigious community newspaper awards in the country.

       It is joined by Herald Express also of Baguio, Palawan News of Puerto Princesa, Metropost of Dumaguete, Bohol Chronicle of Tagbilaran City, and Mindanao Observer of Dipolog City for the weekly category.

       Sunstar Pampanga, Sunstar Cebu, and Mindanao Times of Davao City are the finalists for the daily category.

       At stake are the categories for Best Edited Community Newspaper, Best Editorial Page, Best in Business and Economic Reporting, Best in Environmental Reporting, and Best in Photojournalism.

       A new category sponsored by International Labor Organization is the Best in Migrant Labor Reporting.

       The finalists for each category will be announced during the finals. The finalists will be grouped according to the geographical areas of Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.
