THE steady decline of COVID-19 incidence in Baguio City has led to the city’s case total dropping to below three digits after hitting triple digits in July of this year.

As of Thursday evening, there were 95 active COVID-19 cases in the city, with 14 new cases on the day as well as two reinfections.

Of the 16 cases, two are asymptomatic, 13 are mild, and one is moderate. Due to the high vaccine coverage in the city, severe and critical cases remain at 0.

The number of recoveries has once again started outpacing the number of new cases, with 18 recoveries on Thursday.

Healthcare utilization has similarly dipped once more, with 11.04 percent of non-intensive care  unit (ICU) beds in use, and 11.36 percent of ICU beds in use, for a total healthcare utilization rate of 11.08 percent.

The city continues to stick to its self-imposed quota of at least 300 COVID-19 tests a day to keep tabs on the disease.
